Sara Nichols is a New York based ShowRunner, Producer and Director. Her work includes television series, commercials, branded content, multi-camera concerts, documentaries, comedy, live events and music videos. Her visual look is cinematic, allowing the camera to add depth and tone to the storytelling.
Sara began her career in the music industry, first at MTV Networks and then as a music video director. She is Grammy nominated and has worked with multiple artists including Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Usher & Pink. Her digital branding and commercial work includes Brita, HP, Honda, Lexus, & AOL.
As a showrunner, Sara has produced several series including My Little Life for TLC, Sing It On for PopTv, Southern Charm Savannah and Extreme Guide to Parenting for Bravo, MTV’s Room Raiders, Gastineau Girls for E!, Growing Up Gotti for A&E and MiGente! My People! for NBC.
Her other work has appeared on ABC, CMT, MTV, VH-1, Nickelodeon, ABC Family, Sundance TV, Discovery and Telemundo.
Recently, Sara directed and produced a 2-hour documentary on child marriage in the United States entitled I Was A Child Bride: The Untold Story for A&E (streaming on Amazon and iTunes).
Through Emotional Pictures, Sara works directly with networks. Emotional Pictures has produced all of the Sundance Film Festival coverage for Sundance TV for three years, and created and produced Total Access 24/7 for ABC Family. Emotional has also developed and produced content for OWN, Sony, ABC, MTV, Discovery and Logo as well as several branding projects for music artists.
Sara holds dual degrees from Syracuse University: S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
She is a member of the Producers Guild of America (p.g.a.) and the National Academy of the Recording Arts (Grammys).
